Back in 2017, I went on a 1-week trip to the west coast, by myself. I needed some time alone and I wanted to experience solo traveling. As I am looking back at that trip in California, I have 1 big advice to those, who want to do the same trip: Don’t do it alone! Maybe it’s just me, but I was so lonely on this trip. Especially in Las Vegas. A lot of people, everybody is having fun, eating out, gambling…And I was there alone, wish I had some company. Let’s jump into my itinerary, which was pretty good for a short trip to see the most, but it made me feel I need to go back because I haven’t seen everything.
1. Los Angeles: 2 days
Los Angeles is the most populous city in California. And I only had 2 days there, basically only 1 full day, so I decided to get a sight-seeing bus ticket. This was good to go around LA and try to see the most I can in one day. The bus has 6 routes and most of the time, you can jump from one to another because the schedules are fitted to each other. I had the chance to see Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Venice Beach. I was on the road from early morning to the evening, but at least I see the main parts of Los Angeles. Next morning we left very early to go to Las Vegas.

2. Las Vegas: 2 days
After a long, 5-hour drive we arrived in Las Vegas. (I say “we”, because I was with a group on a bus tour.) Las Vegas was the city, where I felt I’m not able to see everything, because there are too many things to see. I look right, oops…I missed something on the left, I looked left, oops…I missed something on the right. Because of this feeling, I definitely want to go back soon and spend more time there, probably like 3-4 full days. This time, I’ve seen the main hotels, Ceasar Palace, Luxor, Paris Hotel, Belaggio, Venetian Hotel, unfortunately, I couldn’t stay in any of these, but they are beautiful and magical.

3. Grand Canyon: 1 day
I took a one-day trip to the Grand Canyon. I went to the West Rim, where I’ve seen the Eagle Rock, been on the Skywalk, and we went to look at the Hoover Dam as well. It is very hot and dry, make sure you take a lot of water with you and put sunscreen on your skin. That’s a quite long drive too, bring food and drink with you, because there is nothing on the road for long miles. The view is fantastic, I truly believe everybody has to see this natural beauty at least once in a life. If I will have the opportunity to go back

4. San Francisco: 1 day
My 4. destination on my California-trip was San Francisco. It is one of my favorite cities because it’s very free-minded and I think it accepts everybody, who lives there. On the one day, when I was there, I went on a boat trip to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island and see the view of San Francisco. I loved every moment of it, but make sure you bring a jacket with you because the weather might not be so lovely on the water.

5. Yosemite National Park: 1 day

On the way back to LA to catch my flight, I stopped at the Yosemite National Park. It is located in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. The park is absolutely amazing with its waterfalls, sky-high trees, chirping birds and wildlife. If you have the time to stop here, I highly recommend it. Here you can feel
